News Manager

The following overview is based on the front and backend management that the site user and site administrator will enjoy.

(NB: The following is the system standard and will be tailored to the specific client requirement)

.: News Manager - Front End User Area

Site users will have the ability within the site to select the news page link which will direct them through to the news page of the website. Once the site user is on the news page they will be presented with a news category selector that for example would list the following news categories:

• Company News
• Product News
• Keyword Search

Once the user has selected the required category the system will display for them the relevant news items and the associated image(s). The system will generally show abbreviated news items which will enable the user to select the required article at which point they will be directed through to the news detail page where the system will display the full news article including the associated images.

.: News Manager – Back End Site Administration

News Manager enables the site administrator to fully manage all aspects of news management. Admin has the ability to add / remove / update and archive news articles as and when required.

When admin creates a news article they will specify a Headline, Body Text and Author and an Image they wish to include with the news article.

Once admin has created the news article they will have the ability to specify the news category the article is to be assigned to.

Category Management
Within the news management system is a category management facility which enables admin to create and manage the news categories that articles are assigned to.

Image Management
Regarding image management, to ensure ease of use the system gives admin a browse option of their computer, this enables them to locate the image they require and once located they simply press the upload option which places the image directly on the server. This process ensures that FTP is not required.

Homepage Management
Admin will have the ability to manage news articles to appear on the website. Admin will simply select the relevant news article at which point it will be available from the homepage from the site.
